Side by Side is a community outreach program sponsored by Faith Inspirational
Missionary Baptist Church that provides mentoring, counseling and education to
students by utilizing safe, qualified volunteer based organizations in the greater
Compton area.

Why the current need for a program like Side by Side?

- Academic training
- Child and teen mentoring
- Child, teen and family counseling
- Spanish to English language facilitation

change and personal growth in the lives of those we serve.
Why the current need for a program like Side by Side?
- Local school administrators, teachers and counselors need strong
community activists in favor and in support of no child left behind in receiving a
quality education. - Drugs, alcohol and sexual promiscuity have escalated amongst young teens.
- Single parent homes with the parent working 50-60 hours a week leaves a
little time and energy for raising children. - Public funding for schools extracurricular activities in athletics and the arts
have been reduced dramatically. - Diversity in language and culture within schools and communities has
peaked over the past five years. Side by Side will bridge the resources of the
community, schools and parents to address the children's diverse needs.
