The 1+1=1? Ministry is dedicated to serving couples. There is a weekly bible study
devoted to sustaining/obtaining Godly marriages. The weekly meetings are held every
Tuesday on the second floor. The bible studies are divided into quarterly topics which
include:

  • Marriage Preparation
  • Finances
  • Sex
  • Communication


Each quarter topic will have 12 individual lessons that will be taught weekly. The
1+1=1? Marraige Ministry is headed by Reverend Patrick and Mia Lyons.

The purpose of the 1+1=1? ministry is to teach couples (married and those seeking to
be married) how to live out God's purpose for marriage. The marriage ministry seeks
to teach couples how to more effectively interact with each other both physically and
spiritually , as evidenced by increased structure and cohesiveness in the home as
well as, an increase in church involvement from the family unit(i.e., Sunday school,
prayer band, witnessing, etc.) God has a great purpose in marriage and we are
dedicated to getting couples to that purpose.

The objectives of the ministry will be reached through:
  • Marriage bible study
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Healing services
  • Role playing
  • Example
  • Fellowships and Outings

Additionally, the Marriage Ministry Leaders will:

  • Ensure that each quarterly topic is printed in th weekly church bulletin as a
    means to heighten the awareness of the activities taking place within the
    1+1=1? ministry
  • Obtain the e-mail addresses and phone number of each couple as a form of
    communication outside of the scheduled meetings as a mechanism to provide
    periodic encouragement and motivation.
  • Post information on the Church website
  • Develop an attendance database for the purpose of staying connected to
    those participants who may have ceased participating and to assess growth
